Spacecraft Innovation 5400 with Air Bag Suspension
Spacecraft Boats realised there was a need in all boats for a better ride quality. On a windy day smooth calm waters change to choppy conditions making it like ‘driving a remote control car across a corrugated iron roof’; not at all comfortable!
Some boats are chosen by their owners after comparison with others on various issues; some being personal comfort, soft riding ability, economy, styling and safety of persons & equipment.
A boat on smooth water is usually predicable and safe, on the other hand, on rough water it can be uncomfortable and at times unsafe.
Ever tried to buy a car without suspension?? On the smoothest race tracks in the world race teams with virtually unlimited budgets and access to the latest technology, build race cars with suspension. So Spacecraft applied the same technology and put suspension into our boats.
Suspension is achieved by dividing the boat hull into two (2) sections with adjustable cushioned air-bags between each section.
The two (2) hull sections are attached to each other by a hinging assembly at the transom.
Testing has been carried out with air bag pressures sufficient to lock both hull components stimulating a normal hull configuration, then whilst on the move air pressure adjusted to allow the central hull to suspend and operate allowing the boat to ride at incredibly softer, safer, more controllable and comfortable levels; especially when running into sharp, choppy conditions which are unkind in other boats.
